Q: How many people can the facility accommodate?
A: The Great Hall seats up to 200 guests. The courtyard area can accommodate up to 500 guests.
Q: How big is the dance floor?
A: The dance floor size is determined on the layout of your event. The average dance floor in the Great Hall is approximately 20′ x 24′. You also have the option of having a dance floor in the spacious Courtyard at no additional charge. The size of the dance floor in the Courtyard would depend on the location of the dance area and the layout.
Q: Is an in-house catering service offered? Can you bring in your own caterer?
A: All catering is handled by our preferred catering professionals. To give you an idea about prices, your average meal per person for chicken is anywhere from $25 to $35 per person (plus tax and service charge) depending on your choice of buffet or a seated dinner.
Q: Are tables, chairs, and linens supplied?
A: Included in the rental of the mansion are tables, chairs, and linens for 200 guests. If your guest count exceeds 200 the additional tables, chairs, and linens can be rented through a rental company from our list of preferred vendors.
Q: Is the site an appropriate one for live music? Is there proper spacing, wiring, and equipment?
A: The mansion is on 40 acres and the Courtyard is a fabulous location for live music under the stars. In the case of bad weather, live music can be enjoyed in the Great Hall. The Great Hall can accommodate various styles of bands with up to 6 members. The Courtyard can accommodate a 12 piece band and more.
Q: Is there a separate room for changing into your going away clothes?
A: Yes, included in the rental of the mansion is an elegant suite available to change into going away clothes.
Q: What are the minimum or maximum hours available for an event? Are there charges if the reception runs overtime?
A: Unlike other locations, we offer the use of the mansion for 7 hours. The Rental fee includes 2 hours of setup immediately before the event, 4 hours of event time and 1 hour of break down immediately following the event. We do not require you to meet a minimum fee with your food and beverage. If you would like to extend your event or add an hour, it can be discussed and an overtime fee will be assessed.
Q: Do you require valet service and what is the cost?
A: Valet parking is required for any event over 80. The number of valet attendants is based on the number of guests attending the function. The number of necessary valet staff is contracted and determined by Fontenot Grand Mansion. The event tenant is responsible for the fee for this service, which is in addition to the event rental fee. The rate is $25 per hour, per valet attendant with a four hour minimum. The valet service arrives one hour prior to the event start time and departs approximately thirty minutes after the event ends. Valet overtime is payable upon extension at the full hourly rate.
